I have been thinking of ways that I can use pod casting in my room and will try next year to use it in my classroom as a tool to help the children with their letter sounds. I think this will help them in making the sounds correctly if they can hear themselves making the letter sounds. Plus this will have more meaning to them if they are taking an active part in the process.

This sounds like a wonderful way to teach them sounds. I think your students will enjoy hearing the sounds in their own voices. Would this be something they could keep? I know as a parent I would love to have a recording of my child speaking as a kindergartner them be able to listen how his voice changes over time.
